What is Texas Rising Star?
Texas Rising Star is a statewide quality rating and improvement system designed to recognize childcare programs that go above and beyond Texas’ minimum licensing requirements. Programs that earn this certification are evaluated on higher standards related to teacher training, classroom environment, curriculum, and overall child development. The goal of Texas Rising Star is to ensure children are not only cared for in a safe environment, but are also actively learning, growing, and building the skills they need for future academic success.
What Do the Star Levels Mean?

Meets quality standards above minimum requirements

Demonstrates strong, consistent quality

Each star level refelcts how well a program performs in key areas like teaching, classroom environment, and child development. As programs earn high star levels, they demonstrate a deeper commitment to providing structured learning experiences, stronger teacher-child interactions, and an overall higher standard of care.
